Royal Ballet of Cambodia

💫 22nd Anniversary — Royal Ballet of Cambodia’s UNESCO Recognition 💫

On November 7, 2003, the Royal Ballet of Cambodia was inscribed on UNESCO’s list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity — a proud and historic milestone for the Kingdom of Cambodia. For more than 22 years (2003–2025), this classical art form continues to shine as a living symbol of Khmer identity and royal grace.

Through graceful dance gestures, Pinpeat music, and royal silk costumes, the Royal Ballet embodies the spiritual essence of the Cambodian people. It represents not only performance, but also the soul of Khmer civilization passed down through generations.

The Royal Ballet continues to flourish under the protection of Cambodia’s Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, inspiring younger generations to preserve and share Khmer artistry worldwide. Each performance reflects the values of devotion, beauty, and harmony — qualities deeply rooted in Cambodian culture.

“More than a dance — the Royal Ballet of Cambodia is the soul of a nation, moving with timeless grace through history.”
